At 08.10h we heard the announcement that due to very bad weather in Paphos we were rerouted to Limassol. (I think I was the only one on board still sleeping at this time...) The good news however was, that we would only get there in the afternoon and would be able to set sail in the morning. So after a nice breakfast we went outside and watched the spectacle.

Seeing this crazy guys (and 1 women) climbing up the masts up to 50 meters and handling all the ropes was really interesting. Once all the sails were set it just looked so great! And it felt great too! Thanks to good winds we were going to sail all morning.

It was time for the safety drill. The test-alarm went off and we gathered with the life wests at the lido deck. The first officer gave a short introduction on safety on board and we all had to try on our life wests. At the end we also had to proceed to our life boat number 1. (With lots of elderly people on board, this took a little time and I wondered what would happen in a real emergency...)

We spent the rest of the morning on deck enjoying the nice weather and admiring the sails.

At lunch we arrived in Limassol. We went by bus to the "city center". When the bus driver announced that we reached the city center we were a bit surprised as it didn't look like it at all. Half of the city was under construction and the other half was closed. I guess tourist season is over :-)
After a short stroll around we returned to our ship and prepared for the dinner.

Tonight was captains cocktail and dinner. After the captain greeted everyone personally, he introduced his officers and staff, followed by a delicious dinner.

Some information on the ship and its passengers:
The Sea Cloud was built in 1931 and is one of the largest and oldest sailing ships at sea. "The old lady" celebrated her 80th birthday earlier this year but is still in good shape. She is really beautiful.
The passengers are from various countries, mostly Germany, England, Sweden and 3 from Switzerland. The avarage age is about 60+.

2 things that show that the average age is pretty high:
1. Some of the guests look older than the ship is.
2. Breakfast for "late riser" starts at 8.30h.
