After escaping the long and definitely busy weekend to las Tuna we found there the perfect place to be. Mirian and her husband Aurelio welcomed us and we were directly introduced to the whole family: Deidad, the grandmother, her son Antonia and Emile and Jose, the children of one of her sisters.
Our room is directly at the beach front and instead of people you would only hear the sea in those traditionally made bamboo walls upstairs the central place outside. We were totally sold.
Weather great, waves good and us in search of surfboards
Living the search up the beach we were on our way to the next village - Puerto Rico. No boards there but at Azaluna Lodge (lovely place, great owners!) and got our balsa surfboards fo the next day.
And surf was gooooood! Unfortunately the board's nose split in the afternoon, so we were searching and arranging repair for that one. However, we also met David, Mirians nephew and his beautifully pregnant wife Ash, from Scotland. Enjoying the beach together, Ash told us as well how to tie knots and make something out of nothing. And of course: Maria got inspired.
So for next Saturday eve we were invited to join Ash's farewell party = a bonfire on Puerto Lopez' beach side and a stay over at their place. Sure we go!
But first, back into the waves...
