In order to make the walk good for all, it was decided to make two teams going over to Tacchedirt different ways.
The fast fit team walked over Oukaimeden mountain. This walk was very steep to start but at the top gave fabulous views of the Tacchedirt Valley. The rise was from 2600metres at the Club Alpin Francais to 3200metres on top. The weather was good and with excellent views over the snow covered peaks. The guide Mohammed wanted to make haste to get the best of the views and this was just managed with minutes to spare before the cloud came down.
The team then had a long descent back to the main pass between Oukaimeden and Tacchedirt, from there down the other team also took the route but did not meet as the 'fast' team took too long going over the top!!
Both teams had entertainment along the way, with Mohammed conducting the 'hokey Cokey' with all team members involved!! Many pictures were taken during the day as views were spectacular. All members were happy to get to the hostel for lunch and before the rain came in the afternoon.
After a restful afternoon for all members (apart from Dez who decided to go on a further walk up a mountain alone, and also attempted to join in a local football game being played at the end of Ramadan. This was to no avail as they wanted to charge him 100diram per half to play with them).
The evening was spent enjoying the evening meal, playing cards, gathering under one blanket (minus electricity, only with candle light, very romantic). Ask Sarah about this one!!and star gazing. Then it was an early night for all.
