The first thing that hit me was a wave of heat and moisture which I would relate the experience to a person breathing heavily on a person body. The feeling was not hated but it was still welcomed. There were only two other times where I was immersed in a humid surrounding that was too thick to breath in, Missouri and Massachusetts ( those stories are for a different time). After I adapted myself to the temperature I scanned the area for a modes of transportation. What I saw was double decker buses and lots of different colored taxis all around. "Now I'm confused"...
Transportation
So there are lots of ways to get around Hong Kong which i should have expected but for some reason I didn't. There are taxis, buses, subways, and ferries to get around the city. It took me a long time and lots of asking around to figure out which taxi to take. It also would have been easier if the taxis were not different colors but the colors do mean something. Taxi colors range from red, green, or blue; each color is for different areas they work in. I bypassed that and instead took a bus that was a double decker. Of course I sat up top to get a better view of the area. My destination was towards the Charterhouse hotel, which is the place I reserved my room in. Not too expensive but still on the classy side. Once in my room, I was able to figure out what to do next.
