Where I stayed
So today was Universal studio's day! Mark and I were rather over excited…..Jess not so! But she made a great theme park mum today – carrying the bags and remembering to bring water – yay :)
We arrived for opening, and didn’t spend more than 15 mins in any one queue which was great news. But it was SO hot! No breeze at all and it was wearing us all out!
Jess being wholly apposed to roller coasters, avoided most things, but Mark managed to convince her to join us on the Jurassic Park ride – the thing he’d been looking forward to the most of this whole trip I think!? She was NOT impressed and didn’t stop shaking, till we had queued and ridden the Mummy returns ride (which, for reference, Mark and I loved!). We also really enjoyed the Simpsons ride, which despite being a simulator (or a stimulator as my mum would call it – love you mum!), really made your belly leap, just like a rollercoaster – very cool!
The studio back lot tour that I had most been looking forward to was meant to take us to Wisteria Lane, which for those of you in the know, will realise is the road that the Desperate Housewives live on! EXCEPT THEY WERE FILMING! I saw nothing basically! Gutted :( Ho hum. The rest of the tour was pretty cool. Jess was unfortunately forced to endure another couple of rides as part of this – the most intense 4D experience (apparently) with the King Kong ride and the Mummy simulator, which basically made you feel pretty sick! Sorry Jess! We just didn’t see that one coming!
So after a spot of shopping we headed home to collapse for a little while. Tonight, we shall pop to China town for dinner. Tomorrow is our last full day here and it will be jam packed with American fun before we have to leave our American dream.
