Teluk Bahang is the furthest village in Penang Island on the north-west coast, about 20km from Georgetown.
It's not easy to find Miss Loh’s Guesthouse. But once you do, you are just about to enter the house of nirvana and something that you never experienced before. No doubts, the most unique and charismatic place I’ve slept so far in Southeast Asia (see the video).

Miss Loh is running the place for over 30 years and by it’s looks – nothing has been changed since, although travelers still keep coming. I’ve noticed the weird thing, most of the residents were living there longer than 6 months, in general not doing much apart from reading, playing cards, eating fresh fruits from the garden and visiting the beach occasionally. I wouldn’t be surprised to see such a picture on the movie or to read in some adventure novel.

Without hesitation I decided to stay in Teluk Bahang for at least two nights and during that time, apart from decent swim in deserted beaches I managed to do 5 hour trekking in a National Park jungle and climbed up to the old lighthouse on the big hill.

I will be always grateful to the destiny for taking me in front of the gates of Miss Loh’s Guesthouse.
