This has been quite an exciting week!  On top of getting accepted to Pratt, I also had midterms this week.  The French don't do midterms but many American universities are not comfortable with accepting credit solely based on one exam.  So just the American students this week had midterms, which don't apply to our French courses, and only apply to our American schools if they require it.  Seattle University is not one of them, thank God! 

History and Literature were very easy for me (wouldn't it have been ironic if I did poorly on the history exam?), but translation and Art History were killer!  Oh well, at least I know what to expect in May.

My good friend Megan arrives from Seattle on Tuesday and is spending her spring break with me.  I am very excited to spend time with her and show off my French!

France is continuing it's strike.  Typically the international students are not affected as we are not citizens and thus are not subjected to the French and their craziness (during manifestations, that is).  However, two Mondays ago we arrived to the CUEF to find a massive pile of chairs and several French students tying them all together.  We laughed and then continued on to our classes only to find that every chair from the first floor of our building was on strike too.  They had made several piles of chairs in front of a few of the amphitheaters were we have our lecture classes.  Traveling around campus we discovered some other universities were completely blockaded with chairs.  All these piles of chairs included signs that read "Printemps des Chaises" or literally, Springtime of the Chairs!
