Traveling to amsterdam was a nightmare. We bought train tickets from Brussels to Amsterdam and it should have theoretically been a 4 hour trip, but our train couldn't go any further than Antwerpen because there was a cargo train on the tracks that apparently couldn't be moved. So we had to get off the train and take a bus to Essen. We were supposed to take another train from Essen to Amsterdam, but the damn station was on fire! We had to take another bus to roosendaal and then another bus to brieda and THEN a train to Amsterdam.

Our tickets were never checked the whole time and oh, by the way, everyone spoke French and Dutch first, so we basically were just sheep and followed the crowd.

Eventually we made it though, and gotta say: we love amsterdam.
