We managed to get a bed and breakfast in Dover, fifteen pounds a night per person. Campgrounds are a scarcity in the UK so B and B's were now the go. The next morning, we rode off towards Brighton. This was a fair way. The map stated 100. Now 100 kilometres is not all that far, but then we realised that in the UK, they use miles here and this was actually 160 kilometres, Lucy died and we jumped on a train at the ninety mark. We stayed over in Brighton and the next morning, I caught a train to London to meet long lost relatives and Lucy was going to Somerset to catch up with hers. As my mum has an Aunt in Chelmsford, I bought a car near there. What I thought was a bargain, turned into a nightmare. The car had a blown headgasket. We gave the car to Lucy's uncle's mechanic to fix, and after a week, we were off to Italy

No sooner had we crossed over the channel, but the car started to overheat again. A dealer in France, ripped us off and stated the car had another blown headgasket . We attempted to drive the car back, but in Bournmouth, the car could not take anymore, so we got towed into Yeovil. This time, the mechanic gave us a car and told us to go sightseeing. The first evening, we spent in Cornwall. The next was in Wales, and the third, we had made camp in New Lannoch in Scotland. We decided to drive up to Inverness, along the banks of the Loch Ness, where hopefully we could get a shot of the Loch Ness monster. Alas we missed out. We stayed a night in the local hostel there and saw a girl walking a rabbit on a lead beside the castle!!!!. Back to New Lannoch, which we then used as a base to go to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Two Scottish cities. Edinburgh more up market and Glasgow very working class. Both nice in their own ways. We then had to go back down to Yeovil as our car was ready. We took the car for a run to London, was amazed to see that Stonehenge was on the side of the road, and as the car was now functioning correctly, we decided to go back to the continent.
