Waking up, we packed and attempted to move. It had been a long walk yesterday and when I first started to move, I could feel it a bit in my ankles. As we sat there packing, we watched a guy with a dog and another guy leave, so this made us more determined to hit the trail
Day 2 - GPS Link
We were hoping to get some breakfast but the trail took us around the back of the monastery, and it was pretty impressive to look at as we climbed the hill with the mist flowing all over it. Around 10 Ks later, we arrived in Salas, it was pretty good to see, and oldish. We walked on through, slowly climbing until we reached the road, and then we had to follow it. It was also a main road so it a little hairy !!!
Eventually, we found some tracks again and followed them. Once we made it to Bodenaya, we found an albergue with quite a few people leaving, and they were all headed over to Tineo, so we opened up, and moved at a fast pace
We criss-crossed back and forth over the main road, eventually we found a track that climbed and climbed and took us way above the villages. It was pretty muddy up there, but at least today it had not rained. The track seemed to go on forever and after a couple of hours of walking, we finally reached Tineo. We found the albergue and settled in.It was so different here compared to last night. There were four rooms with about ten people, here, there was one dorm with over twenty !!!
We said g'day to a few, but they only seemed to speak Spanish. There were a couple of Germans who Lucy thought was a father and son, when actually it was a couple, the girl looking very much like a boy !!!I
It's funny how you crave things. Last year on our first stop at Rates, we had a great pizza, and here, there was a pizzeria, so we ordered one, and in all honesty, it was shit !!!
So tomorrow we climb more, my ankles feel sorer, but I am looking forward to this walk.
