There are a couple of sayings in life

1) Forgive and forget2) You learn from your mistakes

Back in 08, we flew with Singapore Air to Bali and back, and we had problems all the way. Once back in London, they gave us both $200 US each, so believing in point 1, and as they, Singapore Air were having a sale, we booked a couple of seats to Australia, and lets be realistic here, at 406 each, it was rude not to !!! Which brings us to point 2. Do you actually learn from your mistakes? When it comes to Singapore Air, no !!! I'm not going to sit here and moan like a Pom, but the flight experience was shit. End of story.
Back in Sydney, we dumped the bags and caught a train into town. Not having been in Sydney for four years, we did the touristy things around the harbour, well as much as possible before we keeled over from jet lag !!!
Down to the Opera House, I haven't actually walked around it in 35ish years. It was fun, we even managed to get inside briefly, as we wanted info about doing a tour. Back on the harbour, we walked through Circular Quay until we arrived at Cadman's Cottage. It's funny how when I was younger, I could have sworn that this place was called Captain Cook's cottage !!! Oh well, Lucy believed my story until she read the info panel, then called me a dickhead, but hey, lets be realistic, I haven't actually lived in Sydney since 1996, and I'm not getting any younger, and, and, and .....

In and out we went, and into the Rocks. We took a few more photos of the bridge and Opera House before beer o'clock came calling. As the Rocks has some of the oldest and smallest pubs in Sydney, we found the Hero of Waterloo and settled down for a few. It was nice, and even though we had been here less than 24 hours, I found myself settling back into the Sydney lifestyle nicely !!!

And Finally

It's great to be back here, in the warmth of the Southern hemisphere. Home is where the heart is, and even though I will be leaving soon, I know that this is home, and trust me, my bones want me to stay.

That's nice Dave. Forget Singapore Airlines. I've just taken off from an aircraft carrier. Imagine the scariest theme park ride you've ever had and times it by ten - because there are no windows to give you perspective. Just the screaming of the props at full power, the smell of hot oil and then the drop as the catapult flings you off the end of the carrier doing mark 4. Sweet!
