In Shan State, there are many ethnic groups such as Shan, Kachin, Palaung, Wa, Lishaw, Myao, Lahu, Kokang-Chinese and so on.
This is a Palaung woman and kid in Laokaochai village, Laukai District, where is still restrict area for foreign tourist, because of conflict area.

Palaung ethnic lives in very simple life style, staying in straw hat and farming upland rice, maize and minor crops in mountain slope.
