After a VERY long flight with basically NO sleep, we landed at London-Gatwick Airport.  We followed the crowd to immigration.  It was pretty easy to get through.  From there, we went to collect our luggage and go through customs.  Then we started a VERY long walk down to the car rental building - down many ramps, then outside and down to the far, far end of the airport property where dad had his first shocker --  gas was £79 per tank.  That is about $158.00 USD!  I thought he was going to have the big one!  I almost had one too!  Oh my gosh!!!

Wow, what an experience!  After a few wrong turns and the scenic tour AROUND London (our navigator sent us the wrong way on M-25) and a few more wrong turns in Marlow, we finally found our hotel!  Our room was not ready as promised!  We got a map of Marlow and drove around looking for a place to eat.  The streets were very narrow and there was no place to park and dad was extremely tired.  We drove back to the hotel and ate at the Agua Bar in the hotel.  Lunch was:  grilled chicken salad for dad, sandwich & chips for Josh, and lobster soup for mom & I.  The soup was really a tomatoey broth with lobster flavor.  There was no meat or veggies in it!  Then we had our second sticker shock!  Lunch cost
£28.96 ($58 USD).  I was prepared for this one!  When our room was finally ready, all four of us crashed!  We got in our room about 2pm and slept until about 7pm (local time).  We had room service (2 sandwiches, potato chips, & fries).  The sandwiches came cut in quarters and we each had a quarter of each sandwich (1 was roast beef & horseradish and the other was a club sandwich with boiled chicken and a fried egg).  We showered and went back to sleep - slept the night through!
