Where I stayed
Magdalena, Csaba, and Marit's Home
Magdalena took us to City Skyd, a large shopping center. Here, we purchased Norwegian chocolates for our relatives in Hungary. We also bought candy. Norwegians have the best candy, all kinds of sour gummies, caramels, you name it. If I grew up here, I would have no teeth.
We also spent a lot of time planning our next move: After much searching, we found crazy cheap tickets to…..wait for it….Croatia. At $106 per person it is quite a good deal. It seems to be a fluke in the system because on any other day, the cost of tickets to Croatia is about triple. We are leaving on Friday and we will arrive in the port city of Split at around 6:45pm. We plan to spend about 2 days in split and then we will travel down to the beautiful Dubrovnik. I am trying to reserve rooms at hostels in the two cities. Magdalena has just offered to create us makeshift sleeping bags from fleece blankets so that we wouldn't have to rent bed linens for extra money at the hostels. She is so nice! We plan to travel by bus throughout Croatia and maybe take a bus up to Hungary afterwards. We already reserved our hostel rooms in both Split and Dubrovnik.
In retrospect, it was probably not a good idea to buy chocolate bars for everyone in Hungary. They will definitely melt in the 95degree weather that will await us when we get off the plane in Croatia. Damn.
