Where I stayed
Mississinewa Lake, Miami State Rec Area
What I did
stayed on quiet roads
chased racoon away from stealing bread
shared a campfire with fellow campers
cycled 92km in just under 6 hours
7071km cycled so far
Cycled our 7000th km today.
We were able to stay on very quiet roads, thanks to Al writing out instructions from google maps directions. We probably saw only about four cars all day.
We stopped to have lunch under a red shrub that was someone's front garden. The owners came out of their drive and gave us a wave.
We got to Mississinewa lake and noticed they have tracks for walking. Americans? Walk anywhere? Then we noticed the were only 1.2 miles long.
We set up camp and explored the campground. We had to chase a racoon off our bread, naughty thing. Still cute, though.
Later, in the evening, some campers who were here with a boat invited us over to share their campfire. They all worked for Caterpillar. They were fox news watching Americans, but we talked about politics anyway, us doing more listening than talking.
Many Americans seem to be just hanging on until retirement. They certainly weren't enjoying their jobs.
