Going back a little ways... We left Farmington and headed toward the Four Corners. When we looked up how to get there and a little history about the sectioned land, we discovered that the pictures would be "arbitrary." The author of the article was clearly not very impressed with this national monument. This made us laugh the whole way! We just kept thinking, "Well, for a trip that is entirely arbitrary, I'm glad we're adding this to the list." When we got to the monument there were only two other groups of people there: an older couple and what I'm assuming was a European rock band. Two guys and a girl had matching outfits were taking some "cool" pose pictures for a good long while. I'm not sure why I get annoyed so easily by inconsiderate tourists, but I do. Even though it was really cold and pretty windy, the Four Corners was really neat. I bought a couple of bracelets from some native Navajo people. I'm glad to support the Navajo Nation.

Our next amazing view was of Monument Valley. Traveling down Hwy 160, we were able to drive right by some of the beautiful rock formations. They were all so individual. Each one has a name and a history, and the natives are proud to protect and honor each of the monuments. It's really moving.

I'm going to end it here and let Grant tell you about the next couple of updates... he's a lot better with the Dinosaur/Science-y stuff.

The Old Man on

There have been arguments made by many people that the Four Corners Marker is in the wrong location by anywhere from 1,800 feet to 2.5 miles. However, the Supreme Court ruled that the marker's current location is accepted as the point where all four states meet.

I'm glad you made the effort to go there because it truly is out in the middle of nowhere.
