for the Asia Pacific Sales Meeting to setup and support computers at their business center. This sounds great, but the reality was many long days spent stuck inside a cold, air-conditioned room.
Donny and I work together at Nike and had supported the Global Leadership Summit in Vancouver, Canada (which may be why we were chosen for the Hawaii meeting). We rode together to the airport in Portland and flew out to Honolulu. I've never been one of those people that arrives at an airport and has someone waiting for them with a sign, but we had that here. They took us to the Hilton Hawaiian Village right on Waikiki Beach where we'd be staying. Nice.
We had a little bit of free time to look around before a pre-meeting regarding setup and logistics. It was there that I spotted a very lovely young woman named Monique who would be helping out Garnet with all her planning. Later I was fortunate to get to sit next to her at our group dinner.
She lives in Seattle so I talked to her about life there (I went to college in Seattle) and what brought her to this job since she doesn't work for Nike. At the time I couldn't place what it is about her that seemed familiar. Later I would realize she bears a resemblance to Audrey Hepburn, and we all know I think the young Audrey is adorable.
