What a day!  Roxi had a rough one...lost a fight to another dog over her bone...scars on her nose to prove it.  They look a little tender, but not serious, as with the one under her right front leg.  She lifted it up to me to kiss better...she is so cute!  I've raised a sucky girl!  She's lickin' her ouie as I write :(  Then!  She jumped into a well -- on my go (she looked at me to see what I wanted her to do...), and I'm completely mortified to say I gave her the go ahead, and she got stuck.  As soon as the words, "go, Roxi" were out of my mouth, I was trying to grab them back.  I realized as soon as I'd uttered them that I hadn't checked the other side of this well to see if she could jump down.  But, she was already in the hole...no fear.  Crazy girl.  Before, I jumped in, I scrambled up to where I could see below...it wasn't too high, but a big mud hole lay in the middle of the landing path.
So, I jumped down to rescue her...six times I tried.  I could lift her up no problem, but she kept flipping around, and jumping back over my shoulder...taking me with her to the ground as I tried to force her to climb out.  But, I guess she couldn't feel her toes on solid ground and would not even entertain the idea of trusting me...hmmm, I wonder why...I gave up eventually as I could feel my hip being tweeked again.  I tried to jump down the other side, but I didn't feel comfortable.  I figured I would bash my head on the sides of the canyon while trying to avoid the mudhole...the cliff sides were leaning in at the top.  So, I climbed out thinking I would walk around to pull her into the mud hole if need be, or else I would get her harness and pull her out bodily.  So, I'm walking up the path thinkin' I would hear her start to howl like she does when I get out of her sight, but nothing.  So I kept walking as fast as I could.  For some reason, I turned around to look behind me, and there was Roxi, bounding up the path after me.  Crazy girl.  I have no idea how she managed to scramble out, actually I do, the same way I did.  But, it was a hell of a jump and scramble for her.  Guess she figured it was better than the mudhole idea.  But, she was no worse for wear, thank god.  The well was as deep as I am tall...no comments from the peanut galleries out there.

I also took my sketch pad and pastels with me in the hopes of doing some sketching.  I did!  Chalk pastels...I got no knack...but oil, hmmm, maybe.  Throw in a little ink...Walla!  Chicken scratch art.
