Another cruise note: every night there is some show, comedian, hoe down, cabaret or other entertainment. We haven't really bothered with many of the ship board activities as it is all aimed at an older market, most people on the cruise are closer to the grave than me. I have talked with other cruisers (is that what I am?) and they said the shows are ok… I’d rather watch the view outside (it is light to 10:30pm) or watch one of the movies that cycles on the 4 or so movies channels they have on board.

Skagway is a small historic town, it feels that if there was no tourism then this town would close down. It used to be one of the last stops before the gold fields and made most of it’s money from prospectors

. We toured town, bought some art (there are some excellent little art galleries in town) and found another real cup of coffee. Afterwards we went for a walk to some waterfalls, on the way we saw a squirrel feasting on a pine cone it hung around long enough to take a few photos and a video.

The falls were not that spectacular, well they might have been, however you really couldn’t get a good view, we were at the top and it’s really not a tourist site…. It’s more of a walk.

We made our way back to the cruise ship, ate more food... even with restraint i have gained at least 3 kilos!!!! I am not even eating dessert at every meal and not having afternoon tea (or afternoon burgers pizzas etc)
