firstly, i need to apologise for that ridiculous email i sent some of you utrechtians while i was very very drunk in seville, spain. i was drunk and having an awesome time, but being drunk without you guys made me miss you so much!! to tell the truth, i actually dont even remember what i wrote in it (although sanna kindly reminded me by sending it back to me... which i was too embarrased to re-read!). Luckily I dont think I sent it to too many of you.
so, i'm going to write this like it's the first email i'm sending everyone i havent written to since before i arrived in holland
i left holland on tuesday 4th and after a very long trip (with a 7 hour wait in london) i arrived in seville very very late. i met up with naima and all her random backpackers she met that day at the hostel. pretty much as soon as i arrived, i suggested that we go to portugal the next day to watch the portugal vs france game, and invited three random travellers (tom from UK, nick from australia, and sean from canada). everyone agreed and then we went out to explore the night life of seville. it was when i got back when i wrote that really drunk email. oops!
wednesday 5th - portugal (after we stopped by at a random beach in... somewhere in spain). portugal is cool. it had some latino elements to it, and well, it was so much fun. although i wanted portugal to win because i was in portugal and it would have been really celebrative, i was quietly going for france... (probably because portugal won against holland in a very dirty and agressive match. yes, quietly inside, i love holland!). we got back very late.. and i fell asleep while the others continued to party.
thursday 6th - scrapped our travel plan to go to cordoba (spain), and we headed to morocco..
friday 7th - left late morning to catch a ferry to morocco. on arrival, we met some british girls and five very dirty and scraffy looking greek boys, and headed off to fes by train (train took like six hours or something). so we arrived quite late last night. we ate at this cool moroccan place, with this massively fast and busy manager trying take orders, who just wouldnt listen to any of our english mixed with our attempt of french and arabic that we clearly couldn't speak. he ended up being very friendly, perhaps overly friendly, and was very excited that naima was half arabic and her name was "naima" and started singing a "naima naima~" song for her
saturday (today) - we went to medina (the old town of fes) and that was one of the most fascinating town i've ever visited in my life. it was like... hehe, can't remember, but like 9th century? man, i'm so bad with dates and history. but it was very old! and it just felt like we had gone back... well... many many years. ok, i'm going to stop trying to describe this place now. BUT, if you can imagine big walls with lots of intertwining roads all going into one another on hills, with big gates and donkeys carrying people and wood and stone, etc, etc, etc... okay, i suck...
but anyway, with lots and lots of amazing experiences (with hammams - a moroccon bathhouse; OMG, what an experience! and a visit to a really friendly guy who earlier sold one of our fellow travellers a beautiful moroccon rug, to his house for a moroccon mint tea - yum!) we had lots of fun. Naima is really cool to travel with. What i like about her is that... she thinks with me. it's like having two brains. and because we think so different, we somehow are able to come up with all the pros and cons for everything, and end up making all the right decisions. it's been really cool and lots of fun.
and tomorrow, we wake up at 5am so that we can catch the train back to the port, catch a ferry back to spain, catch two buses and arrive in granada by the evening (because naima has to leave from granada on the..

But anyway, I'm soooooooo looking forward to partying out with you!
