Where I stayed
Cross Creek Dive Center
There are definetely ups and downs on backpacking trips; delays, cancellations, alterations and changes are pretty much inevitable. When a traveler has come to understand this it makes their journeys much less stressful and dissapointing.
Unfortunatley, that is the situation we are looking at right now. I first got sick last week, which is not at all uncommon in central america, but 6 days of illness has left me visably skinner and very weak. Even after a round of antibiotics, symptoms seem to be getting progressivley worse. There is a time to tough it out, be a man, and walk it off. But in my short 24 years of experience, this is not one of them. So I'm throwing in the towel this time, I changed our flights to leave Roatan tomorrow at 13:10 to Houstan (at a $1500 penalty, which is about howmuch weve spent combined this entire trip...) en route to rainy Vancouver. I can't say a part of me won't be happy to have good food again, and a real bed, but I feel terrible that I couldn't talk Christy into staying without me. I suppose it wouldn't really be safe for her to travel on her own anyway, but regardless I resent the fact that she won't get to visit Belize because of me. Especially when we're so close...
So this is the end for now, the rest of Central America will remain a mystery to me until the distant future once again. I look forward to seeing you all back home, but am sure that nothing has changed in over a month since I've been gone. Such is the hindsight of a international traveler: "theres no place like home until your away, and no place like away until your home." But one thing is for sure, there's no doctors here like there are at home...
Until next time, hope you enjoyed our travels!

Tyler, I am SO sorry that you have been ill, but I can't say that I am sorry you are coming home. I am very worried. Christy, I'll be at work tomorrow, but if you need me for ANY reason, please call me at 604-925-7311. As well, in Houston, Tyler's Aunt Jan is available at 281-596-9479. She knows you are enroute so call her if you need any assistance.
Christy, Auntie Jan's cell number in Houston is 281-467-4267. She said she will have it in her pocket all day and if you need her for anything to please call. She said she will be right there with you if you need her to be. Angels on your backs, sweetie :o) xoxoxoxo
Tyler get home safe....LOVE AND MISS YOU ALWAYS.....Aunt Syl & Uncle Pork
Yes, it sucks to come home early, but it's all good if it means you get all better to travel another day - and that's WAY more likely here in NOT-SO-RAINY Vancouver. Hasta la vista!
Hi
Tyler and Christy we hope you arrive home soon and we love and miss you.
Please call when you get home.
