We survived a pretty stormy night including a window flying open in the middle of the night due to the great gusts of wind! We all felt very at home today after awaking to some refreshing rain. Unfortunately though it also meant that we couldn't make it to the beach. We still had a great day playing loads of games and a whole morning of painting and balloon animal making. It actually worked out quite well in the end as it meant we got to spend more time with the kids one to one. Their love for us is still overwhelming.
We are also really excited to be joined by Hannah from York St John University. She will be with us for the rest of the week. We are sure she will bring loads of enthusiasm and inject some much needed energy into the team.
The SC team are beginning to flag a little as tiredness begins to set in, both emotionally and physically. We had planned on celebrating Emma's birthday with her today but unfortunately she has been in bed ill. I'm sure you will join us in not only wishing her a Happy Birthday but also a speedy recovery.
Spirits were revived this evening as the sun has reappeared. It looks as though we will be back on the beach tomorrow. The copious bottles of sun cream in every factor possible are on standby!
