First came news that it's going to rain for the next three days! Then as the day progressed the skies steadily became darker and the gales began. We had a slightly embarrassing moment or two when the gale force winds blew our washing, including bikinis and underwear, off our balcony to the ground/trees four floors down! Never fear, they were quickly rescued but possibly without our dignity intact!

We had a brilliant craft session today. The girls (and boys) were thrilled to decorate bags and puppets. Each one wanted a photo taken with their work of art. The girls especially loved, as all girls do, sticking on jewels to their new accessory. Sometimes the kids don't have the patience to sit down and do a craft as they want to quickly move on to the next thing. They often fear on missing out. Today however they all sat down and really enjoyed not only decorating the bags and puppets but they were truly happy with their finished product. Some of them were amazing and could be a future designer for Louis Vuitton. Well, if only that was a future within their grasp.

We (the team) today have been talking a lot about the futures of these kids. Especially for the girls. I think it has hit home with most of us that the future for these girls doesn't look as bright as ours. All we can do is show them that we love them, care about them and hopefully this will be a time in their lives they can look back on and remember as a really happy time.

Tonight's coolness provides welcome relief from the week of high temperatures we've had. Plans may have to change tomorrow to accommodate the rain. We shall wait and see...
