Our day starts at the House of Opportunity in Gabrovo with a quick tour of the project house and then it is time for the three hour trip back to Sofia. We travel quickly as we have an exciting appointment in Sofia prison this afternoon.

For the second year running we have been invited by a group from Breakthrough Christian Centre to accompany them as they host a Christmas party in the jail.  It is our privilege to supply Christmas boxes for the prisoners to give to their children as they are reunited with their families for the first time in many months.  It is very moving to see these families reunited even if only for a couple of hours.  There are many tears and hugs... and that's just the Trussell Trust team! The children are just so pleased to see their dads and when Pastor Theodore who was leading proceedings asks how many men promise not to be separated from their children again, there is a forest of hands and much cheering all round.  We will let the pictures tell you the rest; suffice to say this was probably the most moving distribution of the trip.

One thing that has been bothering us is how to find some of the families who were displaced when Botevgrad Roma Community was bulldozed in September.  Many of the children from that community attend Lipnitsa School and have received Christmas boxes, but some families remained beyond our reach.  But if there is one thing that God teaches us it is that He has a plan and everything is in His hands.  On the way to Sofia, Miryana stops her vehicle at a service station near Botevgrad and just happens to meet Ivan, a father from one of the families we were concerned about.  Phone numbers are exchanged and plans set to visit them tomorrow...
