5,296 Christmas boxes finally arrive in Sofia and the team wasted no time unloading the 676 cases full of presents.  Our team was joined by volunteers from Breakthrough Christian Centre and an ex-prisoners group to help unload the truck and add some local colour to the day.  After two and a half hours hard graft the warehouse was bursting at the seams with all the shoeboxes (Beccy has added bruises upon the bruises she got putting the boxes on the truck on Monday) thanks to Sofia Baptist Church for the loan of the space.

Even as we were unloading shoeboxes various NGO's and groups that we have worked with before arrived to collect boxes for distribution to prisoners' children, a baby orphanage and the local community around the Baptist Church.  Miryana had a fun filled couple of hours directing boxes to the various groups and making sure all the numbers added up.

In the afternoon the team split up to deliver boxes to other groups with Rich, Beccy and Niki visiting an NGO based in the Fakulteta District of Sofia, a large Roma community with an unofficial population of 30,000 people.  Here the team visited a children's centre that provides a kindergarten and women's health education programmes funded by a Dutch charity.  Although we didn't get to give the Christmas boxes out directly to the children (this won't happen until the 22nd) staff here were really grateful for the presents and were eagerly planning their festive celebrations with the children.

After another battle with the capital's traffic it was time for pizza at Miryana's and yet another revision of our plans for the coming week (this is pretty much a daily occurrence), and finally Rich and Beccy make it back to HoJ by 10 o'clock.

Tomorrow will see our first distribution of the trip at Skravena Roma Community and a very exciting event for the children of Lipnitza orphanage school in the evening.  But for now we have a very serious appointment with some pillowzzzzzzzzzz.
