It was a red flag at the beach today which meant that swimming in the sea was not allowed much to the disappointment of the kids. They are more than happy playing in the sand; digging holes, filling them in, digging holes, filling them in, digging holes, and yes, you've guessed it – filling them in again! However it’s the sea that really makes them excited. Nevertheless we tried our best to keep them entertained with sandcastle building and a mixture of games.

After deciding to retreat back to the hotel we embarked on an impromptu craft session. The kids also received a toy puppet each. These were very kindly knitted by a friend of Pete and Maggie’s especially for the children. They aren’t just any old puppets; they have obviously been lovingly made, with a lot of hard work and attention to detail. The hard work was not for nothing as the kids absolutely loved them! They were all desperate to get a photograph of themselves holding their puppet (which is why I’ve added just a few of the many to today’s entry). By the end of the session most of the puppets had been named, cuddled and played with.

The team have also enjoyed a well-deserved afternoon off which was comprised of such essential activities as sleeping, sunbathing and more sleeping!

Looking forward to seeing the kids again later tonight for another story and more games. Rumour has it that Pete hopes to included fire juggling in his story tonight – a must see for everyone! Hopefully we will all live to tell the tale.

Well done! Have a great rest of the week. It would be a shame if one of Pete's flaming torches landed in the Russian's PA equipment...
