Yet another brilliant day at Summer Camp! The love that these kids have for us never ceases to amaze. Having come from such a difficult background you would think they would, at the very least, be a little bitter about how little they have or how unfair life has been to them. Yet from the youngest to the oldest they give out love in abundance. To be honest, it's something we ourselves are not all that good at back home. It is eye-opening to us that although we came expecting to teach these kids, we never expected to learn something from them. We can only hope that we are giving them as much fun and love as they deserve.

A few of the kids today were a little afraid to go into the sea because it was think with seaweed – again something that many of them have never seen before. The slimy texture made them giggle. Then one of their teachers found a jellyfish which made most of the Youth Team run out of the water screaming, afraid to go back in. The teacher seized the opportunity to teach the kids about Jellyfish, holding it out for them to see close up. It was certainly an educational experience of a sort for the youth team too!

Another highlight of the day was Emma leading Snakes & Ladders on the beach. The children absolutely loved this game - especially if competing against a member of the UK team. However, we feel the UK team were at a slight disadvantage seen as the pair number was called out in Bulgarian. Not that we are competitive or anything...

Hopefully more adventures tomorrow (that don’t include Jellyfish).
