Yesterday morning the lorry arrived - hurray! With the help of a very happy and enthusiastic bunch of volunteers (who gave up their lunchbreaks to take part), we unloaded the boxes into a warehouse at the local woodyard. The 3,700 Christmas Boxes are now neatly stacked and sorted into categories so that we can start giving them out.

First stop after lunch was a trip to the local Methodist Church with Christmas Boxes ready for distribution to those in the surrounding community at the weekend. Next was a visit to our Bulgarian charity shop 'Second Chance', which was given a delivery of stock from the UK. Needless to say Molly and Ani - our translator - felt it necessary to check on the customer service by buying a couple of items whilst they were there... (top marks for friendly staff and good quality clothing by the way). All the money generated by Second Chance goes back into the Bulgaria projects to help the Trussell Trust Bulgaria to cover its running costs.

Meetings with Mr Petkov to finalise our distribution plan and then Galla our accountant followed and all is in order and ready to go. We are now about to set off to give Christmas Boxes to the children of Gurkovo Orphanage, so better get off the computer - can't wait!
