Pienza, Italy

After we left Montepulciano we went to the next hilltop to visit, Pienza. A very small town with Renaissance beauty everywhere you turn. The most wonderful thing here is the walkway all around the outside of the town on the mountainside wall! It is just stunning! This afternoon after siesta was over, everyone appeared and began strolling along the wall, eating their gelato, walking their dogs. Then we came upon a local arts and crafts market, and then in the beautiful little church square was a childrens program going on with children and their families and refreshments. It was quite fun. The architecture and views in this town are so warm and welcoming. The pecorini cheese is their homemade product so we tasted and bought some! The cliffside walkway at sunset turns into a gathering place for a glass of wine and a view of the sunset. We just couldn't leave that, so we chatted with some other americans and enjoyed this Tuscan moment!On our way back we stopped in a local Italian restaurant that was full of happy italians having dinner, so we decided it must be good! No one spoke English, but the food was not only very good, but finally a meal at reasonable cost! We enjoyed it so much. of course finding our way back to our bed in the dark was a bit more challenging, but we finally made it............

Just so you guys know, Nhall killed Flowery b. UGA got destroyed by tenn. And USC got beat by stanford, and LSU beat Florida, LSU is the #1 team in the country right now. I talked to Kadi and was glad to hear of N. Hall's complete and total beating of Flowery Branch! What happened to georgia???? Glad things are going well at work, give Raider a lick, i mean kiss for me!!!! We had a blast today! We're off to Pisa and the Leaning Tower tomorrow!
