It was a 26 hour journey from Japan to Columbus. I think we were ready to come home only because the end half of our journey was nonstop on the go, it was very hectic especially in Vietnam and China. Obviously there were some creature comforts that we had missed on our trip, like having the same bed to sleep in everynight and having fresh towels, etc. We absolutely loved our time being a backpacker, independent traveler, having all the freedom to choose what and how you would like to spend your day and make up the destinations as we went along. Most people would say college was the best time of their lives, but I would have to say those people never strapped on a pack and saw bits of the World they had only dreamed about. Travel to me is being in the moment, all senses are aware, everything is a wonder, and everyone is connected. I truly believe if more people would get out of their comfort zone and go experience something new there would be more peace and understanding on this little planet. I always dreamed about one day traveling the world but doubted the chances. Until one day I decided to quit caring what people thought of me or that I was too old or aloof and just bought a plane ticket. That was all it took, that first nudge and it freed my daydreamer free spirit into an adventurer and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
