We took ferry - mini bus transfer to Phuket and stayed in Patong - which had a Myrle Beach vibe.  We went to a cultural theme park, Fantasea.  We walked through Tiger Kingdom which had a sultan theme and 2 gorgeous white tigers, then corridor to a dark reptile house which then opened up to a white and blue lit room with peacock and butterfly theme.  We had a very nice buffet dinner and then saw a special dance show outside.  The big deal at the park is the night show they put on in the Palace of the Elephants. Somehow we scored terrific seats - nearly front row.  It was the most random show ever - brilliant!  It told the story of a magical elephant who comes onto stage with a lit up jacket and all the warriors disappear, and in between there were cultural dances, aerial acrobatics (very cool), and even a magic show. There were some pyrotechnics, cannon booms during battle, live animals (elephants, chickens, goats and pigeons) and even a rain storm.  The elephant performers pooped and pp on stage and did some cute tricks and balancing, there were no less than 20 of them.  It was a very random performance and we could only guess at the storyline.  The theatre was really cool, it had asian trees and designs everywhere.  After the show, we fed a baby tiger and got our pic taken with one of the elephant performers.

We also took time to enjoy our last day in the ocean in Thailand, this beach actually had nice waves.  Then we indulged ourselves in a Chang Tower, and saw Star Trek upgraded our seats to a plush lounger couch with table ($6/tix) then went bowling in the black light.  This part of the trip was very Myrtle Beach all was missing was Ripley's Believe It or Not.
