Where I stayed
KhaosanTokyo Ninja
I decided to do a day trip toYokohama rather than stay over as there were only a few things I wanted to see there.
Before I set off there were a couple of stops in Tokyo. I went to the Asakusa Temple (Kannon Do) which was great. One thing people do here is to buy a fortune. It's about JPY100 and you pick it randomly. The idea is, if you don't like it, you just tie it to a tree! I thought mine was pretty good so I hung onto it.
I then went to one of the largest fish markets in the world - Tsukiji fish market. It is unbelievable! I faced my fear head-on and wandered through all the corridors of fish, all freshly caught. There were so many kinds that some things were completely alien to me. And I had no real idea quite how massive Tuna is. It's about the size of a human torso! Anyway, I then went to a stall and had myself some fish on a stick. Yum.
Then I went to Yokohama and visited a museum all about the history and importance of this port to the "opening" of Japan to the world markets which was pretty interesting. I then went to a silk museum which was much more better than it sounds! There were even live silk worm cocoons there being spun (one poor chap had hatched out and didnt seem to know what to do with himself). There were some beautiful kimono on show too. Then I checked out the massive ferris wheel (the tallest in the world I think) and headed back.
I have just discovered that my plan for tomorrow may fail as I cant book into where I wanted to go... I hope I can find somewhere to stay!
I will add some pics to this when I get the chance - tonight I am limited to searching for accommodation I'm afraid... XX

Hi Vic
Great to hear that you have arrived OK and, even better, that you have addressed your fish fear head on! Sounds like you hit the ground running! Keep us posted.

Betterer
Instead of using 'much more better than' I prefer 'betterer'. Please use this in future blogs. Glad all is well.
