Trish here . . . Landed in Frankfurt after uneventful flight (no screaming children). Wandered thru the airport trying to find the gate to Florence. Boarded flight on time, only to find out . . . AFTER the German version . . . that plane had unfixable mechanical issues and we were disembarked and bused what seemed like clear across Frankfurt to another plane. So thrilled that I was awake over the Alps to take photos for poor Erin who slept thru them on her flight. However, Tad in trying to make her feel better, pointed out that there would be other mountains on the way back from Athens . . . maybe not the Alps, but a mountain's a mountain, right? Blech.

Landing in Florence is the equivalent of landing a 747 on a pie plate. Better be buckled in! And highly recommended NOT to utilize the washrooms at the Florence airport. Trust us on this one.

Next, this very friendly cab driver waves me over, and the ONLY plus of this ride was that he had an iphone and put on some American music and had an iphone charger for me because mine was dead. And everything was fine until that vespa pulled out in front of us and we didn't stop for it. BUT, vespa guy got right up off the ground, yelled something at the driver, and off we went. Not 2 blocks later, we took on a bus! But again, a few expletives were exchanged, and everyone was on their way. After that, we sat in traffic for half an hour sans A/C. My cab driver got restless and got out and bought a newspaper. Finally, what did my eyes behold but Erin flagging us down from a bench outside our apartment. And . . . 33 hours since I last slept soundly, I'm sitting here watching Erin type as I dictate. I shoot, Erin types, Jay naps, and Tad goes to the store.

Be Safe.
