Not that I was getting good at german by any account, but now I have to deal with swiss german which is like an italian speaking dutch with a swedish accent. forget it.  I headed straight up to the alps and put myself into a cute little hotel with a beatiful view of a valley full of waterfalls.  had to change money since it is swiss francs here, and man, they sure do disappear out of your wallet fast here.  it is a bit steep for everything.  I got up early and took a train to "the top of the world", the highest train station in europe at jungfrauhoch.  It was a long trip and there were millions of japanese and korean tourists literally running around (well, you would run too if you woke up in italy and had to get to paris the same day! crazy) I am not sure if it was worth going up there, but I would have felt like I missed something if I didn't go.  I took a great hike later in the day and saw so many wildflowers, not much of a view since the clouds came in, so I concentrated on looking down at all the mini flowers.  really amazing, pictures don't do it justice.  This valley I stayed in, in the town of Lauterbrunnen, was really idyllic, full of waterfalls and pastures with farmers making cheese.  It was great just to walk in the valley.
Well, on to the best part of switzerland, not the city of geneva, but its newest resident, my dear friend brigette!  It is great to see her! She just arrived to start her new job at unicef, so hopefully I can be a pal for her while she had  to find a house to get ready for her boys to arrive in a month.  She actually found something the first day, the perfect place in a small town, Crans.  I will update more pictures later, but since it is raining today and B is at a meeting, I might as well put in what I have now.
