Inside a quiet boat we will navigate throughout the mangrove towards the rivers that belong to the São Vivente Island, where it´s possible to catch a glimpse of the fauna and flora of this important ecosystem, considered as a birthplace of the ocean life.
Many mangrove's characteristics will be explained as reproduction, breathing and feeding. The fauna is a spectacular point on the trip, because exist more then 200 species of birds, and the most common are Blue Heron, Black Skimmer, White Heron, Neotropic Cormorant, Black-crowned Night-Heron, Cocoi Heron, Southern Crested Caracara, Southern Lapwing, Bicolored Conebill and the splendid Scarlet Ibis.
The boat goes showing the way that canoes in the discovery times were used to conect the harbor of Santos to the Porto Geral de Cubatão, which was a missionary farm, before they start climbing the hill in order to reach the Vila de Piratininga, the future city of São Paulo, a toll fee was charded by the church.
At the end the passenger will have known a variety of birds and a little bit of the history of Brazil.
