Hello everyone,

We have been here now for a couple of days, they seem to have flown past though as we have been so busy and so tired after the journey. I boarded the Train at Norwich at 1.30pm on Friday and we didn't arrive in Moshi until 11pm Saturday. The first night was spent at a local bar were we met several locals as well as a couple of Irish guys. Was quite a heavy night on the local whiskey. Felt awful the next day though and couldn't get moving until about 2pm. Bit of a mix up at the hotel when we arrived so had to move all our gear. Not good when you a extremely tired and a little hung over!!!!

Sunday afternoon was spent looking for trekking agency's. Well infact we just looked at one, quite liked the set up so booked with them. We have decided to spend pretty much our whole time in the mountain area as the coast dosen't seem that great. By maximizing our time here it will mean we can have a whole days rest between treks!!!!!!!

We have decided on a 4 day trek up mt Meru, leaving early tomorrow morning Tuesday and then a 6 day trek up Kili departing next Sunday.

Now off to pack our gear down ready for the off, i think a well deserved beer will happen after that before an early night.

We have been told that on the Meru trek we may see leopards, hyenas, giraffes, monkeys, deer, elephants and even hippos!!!! I cant wait, even if we see a couple of the animals it will be amazing.

Right time for the off, hope everyone is well.

Jason.

great start ,wonderful sence of humour ,just take care ,i hope the hang over has cleared ok,did you get your beer!!!!!,or did the packing take longer than you thought .It sounds a very good place to visit if you just want to see animals .is that the reason for the armed guard.or the area itself.
love Jean x
