After spending several Days in Arenal, we moved on to get to Monteverde. Now I drove this time and it was a beautiful Sunny morning. The best one since we arrived in Arenal and we were leaving that day.

Well, it was a rather interesting Drive as half way along the way, the paved road disappeared and I swore I drove on dusty dirt roads for two hours. But, this was not so bad...just bumpy! However, the view, surrounding was absolutely beautiful! The drive was certainly worth it. I kept stopping to gape at the scenery cause it was so GREEN and Beautiful!!!

We had to drive along the Arenal lake and then go through mountains to get to Monteverde. You can also take a Boat from Arenal to Monteverde...which is about the same lenght of time driving, and which I think is done alot more than driving. Anyway....im glad about the drive so I didn't miss anything.

The town of Monteverde is very small, shaped like a Triangle and you can walk in less than 10 minutes. We stayed at Sleepers Inn, which to me was the most bargain I got for a stay while there. We paid 25usd dollars for a private room with two beds and breakfast for us both! That was awesome! We stayed on the third floor which had a couch on the balcony and I made full use off! The rooms were clean, HOT WATER, and no AC needed as It got very cold at night! I definitly recommend this place for a budget traveller.

In Monteverde, we did a Coffee and Cocoa Tour and Horseback Riding. Both Tours were done on the private properties of families. The buses pick you up at your hotel and drop you back for free.

We decided to spend Two nights in Monteverde instead of the initial 3 so we just did those two things. FOr us...it was good enough. I do suggest get most of your souvenirs in Monteverde. There is a Shop a the corner with a grocery to the back. I think the prices there were the best and most reasonable I have seen!

Also, there is a very interesting restaurant called the Tree House Restaurant...which is literallly built around a tree. Apparently its supposed to be in the top 10 most bizzare restaurants in the world. It was nice, I just had a coffee one night but could not stay because the wind blowing was to chilly for my liking.

We moved on to the Pacific Side after Monteverde! Things got really HOT there!
