Ea is probably my favorite place in the world. I have spent two months living there loved it. It is a tiny fishing village in the north of Spain and isn't even on most maps. There probably isn't a reason to go there unless you know someone there -- my initial reason. There is a small beach, a few bars, restaurants, and a candy shop the size of your closet. I fell in love with this tiny village and I can't wait to return.

'been to Ea
Back in the early 90's. I made a sentimental journey to Ea, the place where my grandmother was born and raised. She lived the rest of her life in the Philippines and never had the chance to go back to Spain. I remember visiting the hillside graveyard where many of my relatives are buried. I also remember how beautiful and charming Ea was. I'm glad to know someone else had been there and liked the place probably as much as I did.
I've been to Ea twice. It's my idea of what life should be. I spent two weeks there each time, and it was too short.
If you know someone who belongs there, like we do, it makes it a joy to be there. It's the kind of place where they don't lock their doors because they don't have to.
When I die, I want part of my ashes spread in Ea. It's my idea of peace.
