Today we were on the move - going south towards La Jolla which is around 10 miles north of San Diego.  We packed up with Emma saying she didn't want a last swim in the sea only to change her mind at the last minute.

So we all went to the beach and Emma played in the water and found a little friend to play with just as we were about to hit the road.

San Diego is around an hour or so away from Laguna Beach so we did not have a long trip to take.  As it was getting on for lunch we decided to stop off at the outlet mall and see if any of the shops wanted to sell us anything.  Paul was the most sucessful and we think he had had a touch of the sun as he bought quite a few things.  Our most favourite shop was Converse outlet where we managed to spend over $200.  Emma had her birthday present - black hi-tops and another pair too (buy one get one half price).  Paul and I also had a pair too as well as some t-shirts and some other stuff.  Marvellous!!

We got to La Jolla at about 4pm and the trip along the highway is very pretty.  Our hotel is just a little outside the main town but a lovely little Holiday Inn and quite recently refurbished with a good swimming pool too.  After unloading our purchases and having a swim we went for a drive round and to the main part of the town which is lovely.  There is a great park overlooking the ocean which on a good day you could see a lovely sunset.  We found a lovely little italian restaurant in a courtyard to have our tea and it was lovely.  Tomorrow is a Sea World adventure so must get our beauty sleep.

Emma says :  My most favourite part of the day was getting my converse hi-tops and then wearing them out to Dinner - I think I looked great!  I'm fast asleep now - not taking too many pages of my book to get there.
