All of my countless hours of cleaning, polishing, painting, and waxing paid off again as I entered six motorcycles and brought home six trophies from the Seventh Annual Laredo Motorcycle Show benefitting Real Love Ministries.

First Place Dirt Bike - 1974 Honda TL125
Second Place Dirt Bike - 2004 Montesa Cota 315R
Second Place Classic/Vintage 1966 Honda CB160
RPM Choice Best Bike 1974 Honda CT70
First Place Japanese Standard - 1992 Yamaha TDM850
First Place European - 1978 BMW R100S

I also won a Nolan Helmet for answering the question of who rides with the number 46 in MotoGP. Who is that? Valentino Rossi, seven-time World Champion.

I asked myself many times Saturday, "why do I do it?" I started hauling the dirt bikes over to the Civic Center at 6:30am Sunday Morning, then rode the Yamaha over and then caught a ride home and rode the BMW in the parade that began at the Harley shop at 9am. A few hundred of us rode down Santa Ursula to the Civic Center with a police escort. There was all kinds of bikes and riders from little kids on mini-motocrossers and mini-choppers to old guys on hogs. Nacho and I rode side by side on our old BMWs. After that I caught another ride home and took the pickup truck back to the Civic Center.

After hanging out at the show all day, I hauled bikes home, helped take down the show, load up, and rode mylast bike home and arrived at 7pm.

I guess I'll be back next October.

A big thanks to Paul Zuniga of Born-Again Bikes for making it happen and Yamaha of Laredo for helping make it possible.
