Ok, so I was not going to dedicate another entry to a city I was in for only one day, but after visiting Ronda, I can´t resist.  I have to say that this is the most beautiful place in Spain that I´ve visited, and I wish I could somehow post the pictures to show you what I´ve seen.  Ronda is a small city, more of a town, that is deep in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.  It sits over 100 meters above a river that runs through it, which has carved out a gigantic gorge that leaves the city split in half.  It is some of the most beautiful scenary I´ve seen, and I just couldn´t get enough of it! I took so many pictures of the view. The city built a bridge that joins the 2 sides of the gorge, and you walk across this bridge and look down below and all around you, and you see miles and miles of mountains, green fields, wild horses grazing, birds flying BELOW you ... just amazing!  The bridge itself is quite a spectacle to see, and apparently took about 30 years to build.  I spent the day walking above and below the gorge, hiking into caves and caverns, along waterfalls, and just taking in the scenary.  Really, I could´ve easily stayed for days just absorbing it, but knowing that I had seen all the ´touristy´ things to see, I decided to leave the next day to get closer to morocco, as I´m anxious to change countries. But I would say that for anyone traveling to spain, ronda is a must-see. Its definately my favorite city, tied with Barcelona, for Spain. Check out this website for a picture of the bridge that joins both sides of the gorge.  http://www.andalucia.com/ronda/home.htm

Wow (part 2)
The photo of that bridge is amazing. It's like something out of the Lord of the Rings.

But without the Orcs.

I bet the scenery was just breathtaking. Definitely a place on my list to see when I get to Spain. Visiting Spain is moving up to the top of my list.

Looks good
Tammy,

The bridge looks very interesting. I checked out some of the other 'linked' sites and would not mind staying in a villa in one of the small towns and taking day trips or doing whatever comes along.

Take care.
Love,
Sharlene and Dad.

Sounds great!
I went to the site and voted. I had no idea that they were voting on the new 7 wonders of the world! I am really enjoying reading about your journey!
