Now, you've had a chance to get to know a little more about what is going on in the process. In case you've forgotten, I stage exactly 3 weeks from today! I got this strange post on my travelogue from a RPCV that served in Liberiad during the late 70s. Out of no where it came. Then it made me realize that even the oddest person in the oddest place can be reading my posts...so let me fervently ask for your prayers...I asked you in my last travelogue would you be willing to pray for me during my two year tour of duty?
If you are willing to be a prayer warrior, here are a few items to begin praying for on my behalf....
-Pray for the people that I will stage with....to allow me to build strong and lasting relationships with my fellow PCTs...for they, undoubtedly will be my rock....my support during the critical first three months at post in Paraguay.
-Pray for my staging coordinator (s), my project director, my country director, and the training staff that they will be open to receive a CRAZY person...someone who loves life and wants to live it up everyday ---- pray for patience while they attempt to teach me two languages that I must master in 10 weeks.
-Pray for the pilots who will fly our training group...the already infamous G23 group for Paraguay Peace Corps - that they will be alert and safely lead us to our post.
-Pray for my host family...what will they be like? I think about this a lot...how many host brothers and sisters will I have? What will they do for a living? pray that they will receive me with open arms and be willing to foster love and trust from an ordinary American - ....gosh...the stereotypes I want to change about Americans.
Well, that's all for tonight...please begin soaking these items in prayer. I cannot do this alone, but with God on my side and His people, I know that I can succeed at whatever I set my mind to...

Alway Here For You
Well, Trevor Thomas, What a fantastic visit we had tonight and we didn't even do anything, did we? Just sat at the kitchen table and talked. It was a special time for us though as we count down the last remaining days until you leave for your tour of duty with the Peace Corps. I am so excited for you. I have faith in you...more than I think you realize. I pride myself on that. I belive in your ability to accomplish your goals and dreams. You have always been such a motivated and very driven person. You not only see the stars but you actually reach for them. That I believe is what sets you apart from many others. I know how much you want the PC experience and I know how much you want to grow and learn from it as well. I also know the biggest thing for you is the giving...you WANT to give. And what a wonderful characteristic to possess. You have such a deep desire to show others in foreign countries that American are really good folks. I think that's awesme, too. Many foreigners have this idea that americans are stuufy and arrogant rich peiople. I know you will show them different. You are a true humanitarian..you will make a difference....a good one too, I might add, in Paraguay. Always remember to take the time to laugh at least 4 times a day...ok? That can make the difference in everything.
I just want you to know that I will be praying mightily for everything and everyone that you eluded to. I get knots in my tummy sometimes when I think about you going so far away but God handles it quite well. He gets ahold of me and calms and settles my nerves. I'm rooting for you, Trevor and I love you buckets and barrells. MOM

What will I do?
Well, it is hard to imagine that you will be leaving in such a short period of time. Though I have tried not to think about the fact that you will no longer be a phone call away or two classroom doors from me, what am I to do? And what about my long time work out partner? That is when we had time to work out!!! I know I am speaking for me and jenn when I say life here in the states will be as different for us as it will be for you considering we will be a person short in the possy! I expect as much contact as possible while you are away and I will want to send reminders and updates of us back home. So be ready and prepared to keep us in your life while you are away, as for we will do the same. Ohh, I better go before I do get emotional and I will be sure to appreciate the time left we have before you go!! You know I will have you in my prayers from here on out and really could not have asked for a better friend to enter into my life!
Me and Jenn love ya Trevor and you love us tooooo!!!!!

Re: What will I do?
Marissa,

Thank you for those kind comments. I will very much miss you. You have something that a lot of people your age don't have - discipline and determination. You know what you want in life and you're not afraid to go for it...no matter the sacrifices you have to make. True, there are some sacrifices that you still have to make to ultimately reach where you want to go and you know what I am talking about...but hopefully you will come to your senses on that someday. Always remember....never give in to other people - stay strong, for you always have a strong foundation to stand on - your beliefs are there...God will take care of the rest. I could not have asked for a better person to get me through my last two years of college. I'm glad that God sent you and Jenn my way--Shell too, but out of the 3 = you know we have formed a tight friendship and I am really going to miss you. You are a true friend! Remember, I'm only an email or phone call away...TRevoR
