Hey There Everyone,

Well, I am currently writing this update from a very crowded internet café, at the SM (SuperMall) here in San Fernando. Today is our team day off, and we are spending time at the mall, and various places around San Fernando. This past week has been an awesome one for our team, and we have defiantly seen God at work in the past weeks here. We only did 4 programs this week, and focus our ministry mostly on discipleship. On Tuesdays we work at PCHS (Pampanga Christian High School), and do Bible Studies with many of the students there. I am working with the oldest students in that school, and I have already built many relationships with them. On Thursday, we went back to PCHS to support them during their Interim Sports & Cheering Competitions. This was really exciting for the students, and it just so happens that my group of students won. I have also been focus a lot of time and energy in the San Miguel area, about 20 - 20 Minutes away from San Fernando. There is a 79 year old man that lives there named Monroming, and it is very exciting because he and his whole family accepted Christ like a month ago. I have been spending time with his family discipling them and having Bible Studies. It was so neat because he also came to church on Sunday for the first time. He also stayed after church for our program that we put on for the church here in San Fernando.

Last night, I had the opportunity to eat my first Balut. A balut is an 18-day old, fertilized duck egg, with a full baby duck in it. They boil them and eat them whole here. I was very excited to try one of theses, and I actually like them. Another food that we have had here is chopped up pigs brain and intestines. Mmmmmmmmm.

This next week, our team will be taking a 3 day break on and Island just south of Manila called Puerto Galera. We will also be spending a little bit of time in Manila. It is so crazy here because there is Christmas stuff everywhere, as they began preparing for Christmas in September. Here are a few facts about the Philippines that you might be interested in:

-Manila is the Second most polluted city in the world.
-Manila is the text message capital of the world, with millions of messages being transmited each day.
-The Philippines has approximately the same population of Canada, but in a much smaller space.
-San Fernando is the Parol (Christmas Lantern) capital of the world.
-San Fernando is the Christmas capital of the Philippines.
-In 1995, Mount Pinatubo erupted covering much of San Fernando, and neighboring communities.

Well, God Bless you all this week. Thanks for all of your prayers. You can check out pictures on http://spaces.msn.com/trentrollings/
