**Whoops!  Jumped the gun and skipped Day 2...here it is!!**

Day 2 of the 2011 Caucasian Challenge was great.  We traveled 488 km through Bosnia, Montenegro and ended the night in Kosovo.

Actually, we almost added Serbia to that list as we relied on our GPS system, not knowing that Montenegro wasn't one of our loaded maps, therefore the system kept trying to direct us through a route it knew...Serbia (with it's ongoing warzone)!  Luckily we figured it out before the border, and though it delayed us two hours, we finally found our way and made it to Montenegro.  And what a find!  We first traveled along a gorgeous river valley with crystal blue waters, then cut through dark side tunnels and made our way up the mountainside to the peak valley, which was stark, yet beautiful in its own right.  Thoroughly enjoying the scenery, we made our way through the valleys, mountains, rivers, trees, winding roads and quaint villages, all the while tackling a few challenges along the way.

Lesson of the day: Don't rely only on the GPS system!

We had heard terrible rumors about the difficulty of the Kosovoan border, but as we rolled up (and seeing another team stuck there), they looked at our car and race badges and waved us through without checking the car or our passports!  Andy thought he heard them mutter K-FOR, which is the Kosovo military, so perhaps we were mistaken for military with our dark green, numbered SUV and "official" badges!  It also probably helped that Art was driving as he is often mistaken for military!

Kosovo turned out to be really nice (after you passed the pot-holed, turned-up, destroyed section of the road, that is. :)  We eventually put up at the Hotel Peja, had a nice dinner and readied our selves for Day 3!
