I finished my Sri Lankan journey with a short visit to the capital, Colombo. I only went to one place in Colombo, the 120 year old Gangaramaya Vihara (temple). It has the requisite Buddhas, pagodas, and worship chambers of a regular temple, but also now serves as a vocational training institute with educational halls, a museum, library, and a residence hall. It has a very nice Buddha garden with dozens of seated Buddhas (heads intact - a rare thing in the world actually). It's definitely a nice place to visit.

In addition, I visited my drivers (Mahinda) home. After our extensive driving, he invited me to join him and has wife for lunch before my late afternoon flight. Long story short - his house was interesting, his wife was lovely, and the meal was delicious!!
