The southern end of Czech is called Bohemia and we ended up in a small town called Cesky Krumlov, which turned out to be fantastic in many aspects and easily the highlight if the Czech Republic! We caught a few trains to get there and it was like a smaller, friendlier, and more fun Prague. The town literally looks like it hasnt been touched in 400 years, with its superb castle and gardens, old town square, and the Vltava River flowing like a snake around it, creating a semi-island out of the downtown area. You can walk from one end of town to the other in ten minutes and the whole journey is a feast for the eyes and senses with pure, fresh air and 400 year old fortifications. While there we explored the castle with its winding and vast inner complexes and gardens; went hiking (also with Tyler from Prague, who showed up unexpectedly one day) in the mountains surrounding the village while the leaves were changing into various and brights colors; met and partied with people from all over the world (mostly Australians...its like the country kicked out everyone between the ages of 20 and 27 and gave them all free air tickets to Europe!); and walked around the pleasant cobblestoned pathways spreading throughout the town like a huge spiderweb. Great three days!!

Best story: "Fire Marshall Will" - The Czech Republic is one of the only places in the world you can still get authentic Absynth and whether what Will had or not was the real stuff, it really didnt matter because the not real stuff is still incredibly potent. We were in one of the hostel bars and will was having absynth shots...this is where you have a shot glass full of absynth and then you pour sugar onto a sppon, dip it in the absynth and then light it on fire to carmelize the sugar...when its cooked you quickly stir it in the shot glass and shoot the drink and it is STRONG! Anyway, Will sees a few local girls watching our table and decides to be smooth and show them how to shoot absynth, so as he' waiting for the sugar to carmelize, some of the sugar falls off the spoon and lit the shot glass on fire and as he tries to smoothly blow it out he ignites the table on fire and has to drop his spoon in his shot glass, thereby lighting the whole glass on fire so he has to stamp the table with his hands and try to blow out the fire all while both the girls and our whole table is howling with laughter at Will and his smooth ways!
