LAST CHANCE!!!! , the orders were to "Batten Down the Hatches" - for the windest place in all of Mexico...  Tomorrow we go through "La Ventosa", which, in Spanish means:  THE WIND.

About 1/2 into the mornings drive, just before the downgrade - you can see the Pacific Ocean! and THEN - hundreds of WINDMILLS, all taking advantage of the winds that cross at La Ventosa!  What a Sight!!

Hold on to your Hat!, your awnings, and your travel partner - if they get out of the vehicle!  The winds last for about 45 min., until after you pass the town of Niltipec, Oaxaca....

ALWAYS take the time to do a CHECKOVER on your RV.  It might just be wiping off the head and tail lights.  Do a check with someone else watching to see if your brake lights are operational, and don't forget the turn signals.

We are reminded the mountains are ahead in Guatemala, and to do a brake check.  Up to this point the travel has been on mostly lower altitude areas.

Also tire pressures should be checked weekly, and always DO THE THUMP on all the vehicles that have dual wheels.  Don't forget the spare!!!!

WE HAVE GONE IN AND OUT OF THE MEXICAN STATE OF VERACRUZ.  WE ARE NOW IN THE STATE OF OAXACA.

The largest number of windmills are located just ahead in the Pacific coastal areas, just where all the high winds are.
