Southbound on Hwy 200, just north of Tapachula - STOP - at the CHECK POINT at your left.  Note:  You are not warned to stop here, seems like the stop is only for the northbound traffic - HOWEVER if you are traveling with a TEMPORARY TOURIST PERMIT, this MUST be cancelled, if you are NOT coming back into Mexico with your vehicle ever!

Stop your car on the right side and walk across to the guard house, they will explain the process to you.  After clearing, proceed to Tapachula.  If you do not want to enter the city, there is a bypass road, just 100m at the right pass the checkpoint.

HAVE YOUR VEHICLE PAPERS READY TO SHOW AT THE BORDER WITH GUATEMALA TOMORROW.

Tapachula is a town with a hot, humid climate in Chiapas. It is located in southern part of the state, near the border with Guatemala
at 14.91 N 92.27 W. In the 2005 census the population of the
municipality was 282,420 people, whereas the city of Tapachula had a
population of 189,991 (more than two-thirds of the municipality's
total). The city and the municipality both rank second in the state in
population, behind Tuxla Guterez.
