And so we come home...
What a feeling it was to arrive in a country where the streets are clean, the only thing on the roads is transport and car horns aren't a regular noise every second of the day. After one year away I feel like I am seeing things with new eyes and it leaves me thinking England’s not that bad. I certainly appreciate my comforts a lot more than before I left, hot baths, water I can drink out of the tap, sit down loos and of course a clean comfortable bed.
I’ve slept in over a hundred beds, visited 96 cities, travelled through 17 countries, covered a distance of 64346km and gained an altitude of 5416 meters. I have seen things that have made me cry and I’ve seen things that have made me laugh but best of all I have seen things I could have only dream of seeing. So when asked did I enjoy it? Would I do it again? Absolutely would be my answer, I really have had the time of my life and certainly a trip that will stick with me for life. My future holidays will never be the same that’s for sure; every one will be an adventure now.
One think that makes this type of trip amazing is not so much the places you go or the sights you see but the people you meet along the way, I have met some of the most interesting and funny people around and although we might not meet up again we will always have the memories of fun times spent together. I left apprehensive and worried and I returned open minded, a bit scruffy but overall very happy indeed.
For those of you considering it, go on take the plunge you will not regret it!
