Well the flight to Auckland took 13 hours and was a fantastic Lan Air plane, and with games, a remote control and a spare seat next to me I slept most of the way.  We had a hotel booked for 6 hours as we arrived at 4.30am so we just checked in and slept for a couple of hours.  On arriving we noticed the difference and what a breath of fresh air it was.  We went to catch a taxi to the hotel and the driver told us to use the free phone in the airport and call the motel and they will pick us up for free, now if that was South America the taxi driver would have took us to the hotel and charged us double, like I said a breath of fresh air!  I had my first full English and was ready to go.We headed into the centre of Auckland, which Lonely Planet describes as full of hustle and bustle, straight through hardly any traffic, not like the M6!  It was so great to wander round the city centre and look in shops again and read gossip magazines....Lilly’s pregnant, Brad and Angelina on the rocks...oooohhhhh!  We both really needed a haircut so we wandered around looking fora cheap/good salon, we saw one that looked the part and headed straight in for a wee chop, the girl that was cutting my hair was a little Chinese girl who I could hardly understand but never the less I made sure she understood “ No more than 1cm” which to be fair to her she did - until she got to the front where she decided to cut in the layers I’ve been growing out for the last 2 years I shouted NO....too late I had a new layer so of course she had to do the same to the other side.  I was left staring at 2 inches of hair on the floor when she said she had to get her TEACHER to check the cut....Helloo! I was in a training camp. Her teacher said “ooh lovely face frame” The best bit to come was when she got told off by her teacher for trying to straighten my hairs when it was wet, then she put the hot  straightners on the leather stool, I’m sure you can work out what happened next!  So the following day I took my mullet to go and get my new passport photos taken, not because I wanted to, because I had to, then I bought a baseball cap.  We did have a great night in the hostel that night playing killer pool with everyone, I got knocked out fairly early -  I blame my new fringe for getting in the way.
The hostel we were in was great there was 4 rooms with our own private bathroom and lounge, in our dorm was a Geordie, Brummie, cockney, scouse and two Germans and I can honestly say I don’t think any of us could understand each other it was hilarious.  Now on day two it became quite obvious that one of the Germans quite liked his body as he strutted through the lounge to the toilet in what I can only describe as a banana hammock, it was like a diet coke break, on day three Justin was having his cereal when Mr German walked past and Justin shouted “Oh really do we need to see that this early” it was so funny. I was putting some washing in and suggested to the other guys if we all pool our washing we can split the cost and before I knew where I was there was a pile of pants in front of me...Uhhh! so Lee (cockney) helped me put them in and also to sort the for drying as he was pulling everything out of the washer he went quiet and I turned so see him stook with my knickers in his had saying “Urhhh ermm I take it there are yours ehh” I wouldn’t care they were my Brdgets too comedy gold!

The following day two became three when Tony joined us on our travels, Tony is a Toyota and complete with a tent we were all set to move on for our new adventure.
